Chaka Khan’s career has spanned five decades, beginning in the 1970s as the frontwoman and focal point of the funk band Rufus. Widely known as the Queen of Funk, Khan has won many Grammys and has sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.
As a child I heard, “I Feel For You” on the radio and remember wondering who this “Chaka” person was. At the time I had no idea what a treasure trove of power and positivity was about to be unearthed. When I need a lift, it’s always going to be something funky; it’s always going to be something Chaka.
